Consistently This
At 5 am every morning during my watershed residency, I set up my camera alone in the dark. I watched the sun rise giving color to the sky. It was a rare opportunity to see the world of in-between...that moment of not quite seeing the whole yet imagining the whole of it. Memory, time, and place are companions in photography I finally understood with this image. They are, at once, both truths and lies. Light. Dark. In-between. And what we seize from an image is our truth not always the truth of the event nor the truth of our neighbors.
